Few individuals embody the spirit of Bloor West Village like Wes Cote. As Chair of the BIA and a Financial Advisor at Edward Jones, Wes’s journey reflects dedication, resilience, and service to his community.
Wes’ introduction to the financial world started when he was a local student beginning a co-op program on October 19, 1987—infamously known as Black Monday— where he witnessed the largest single-day market decline in history. This early experience captured his interest in the finances and taught him the importance of steadfastness and the value of guiding clients through both calm and stormy seas.
For over 20 years, Wes has called Bloor West Village home. With 15+ years of involvement in the BIA, he’s helped beautify the area, foster economic development, and create public events that unite residents and businesses.
In 2025, Wes celebrates his 25th anniversary with Edward Jones at 257A Willard Ave in Bloor West Village — reflecting years of trust, relationships, and community commitment. From navigating the challenges of 911 and the financial crisis to spearheading community initiatives—and even overcoming personal health struggles—Wes’s story is one of inspiration.
It’s a vivid reminder of the profound impact one person can have when they dedicate themselves to the service of others.
